Jentry Jo Johnson, better known around Copper Hills High School as Coach J, is in her 8th year being a Grizzly. She is a graduate of Hillcrest High School, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University with a major in athletic training and a minor in health and psychology. While at SUU she was on a full athletic scholarship for softball. She loved her time there and thinks SUU is the greatest school on earth—next to Copper Hills, of course.
Coach J made a career change from an athletic trainer working at Registered Physical Therapists (RPT) and being the trainer at Jordan High, to a high school teacher and coach here at Copper Hills. She currently teaches Exercise Science/Sports Medicine and Emergency Medical Response. She also is a part of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) and head softball coach. In May of 2012 Coach J received her master’s degree in education. Although the past eight years have been busy ones, they have been the most rewarding years of her life. She is now receiving a 2nd masters in Administration and hopes to be a Principal one day. Coach J is dedicated to excellence and helping guide students to be successful as well as young female athletes to achieve their best on and off the playing field. She enjoys being at Copper Hills and loves being involved. Coach J currently resides in Kearns with her Airedale Terrier—Grizzly. |
